SumoExperience.com was established in 2014 with the mission of sharing one of Japan’s traditional cultures, SUMO, with people not only across Japan but around the world—accurately and enjoyably.
In recent years, the number of international visitors to Japan has continued to grow, and we have received many inquiries such as,
“Are there any experiences or tours themed around SUMO?”
At the same time, SUMO has its own unique etiquette, culture, and rules, which can be difficult to fully understand even for Japanese people.
As a result, when experiences or tours are conducted without sufficient knowledge, misunderstandings or issues related to manners may arise.
At SumoExperience.com, our team—led by former professional wrestlers—shares not only the excitement of SUMO, but also the cultural background and etiquette that are essential to truly appreciating it.
Our mission is to act as a bridge between our guests and the professional sumo community, providing opportunities where people can experience SUMO culture correctly, respectfully, and enjoyably.
